The Ebonyi State Government yesterday sealed three schools belonging to the former commissioner for Education, Barr. Chibueze Agbo, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The affected schools were Mandate International School Izhia, Royal Comprehensive College Ezzangbo and Royal Demonstration Nursery and Primary School Ezzangbo, all in Ohaukwu LGA of the state.
Briefing journalists, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Umahi on Internal Security, Dr Kenneth Ugbala cited cultism, non-compliance with tax payment for two years and unhygienic environment as some of the reasons for the move.
But in a quick reaction, the principal of Royal Comprehensive College Ezzangbo who refused to disclose his name to journalists, said the claims were untrue, and that the government was only victimizing the schools.
