The Oyo State Government yesterday redeployed 144 staff of the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS) to state ministries, agencies and parastatals.
The Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Olalekan Ali disclosed this in Ibadan while addressing journalists on the effort of the government to rearrange the state civil service sector.
The SSG described BCOS as a massively bloated workforce – with a current staff strength of over 500.
Ali said the state government engaged the services of a consulting firm, KPMG Advisory Services, to assist in carrying out a comprehensive audit of BCOS, the resultant effect of which was the latest restructuring.
He added, ‘’Of the 416 assessed, 209 were junior staff between levels 1 and 7; 149 were senior staff between levels 8 and 13 while there were 58 management staff between levels 14 and 15.
