The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has cleared 68 political parties for November 16, 2019 governorship elections in Kogi and Bayelsa States.
In an update made available on its facebook on Friday, INEC gave the Summary of Party Nominations for Kogi 2019 election as follows: 49 Submitted Nominations; 41 Valid Nominations; 8 Invalid Nominations; 18 Withdrawal after submitting nomination, and 23 Parties contesting in the Election.
The update for Bayelsa State made available on “INEC Nigeria” and “@inecnigeria” showed that “52 Submitted Nominations; 46 Valid Nominations ; 6 Invalid Nominations; one (1) Withdrawal after submitting nomination, and 45 Parties contesting in the Election.
Meanwhile, as the preparation for elections in Kogi and Bayelsa States continue, the collection of Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) ended today (September 30,2019).
The collection of PVCs commenced on September 2, holding between 9am and 3pm from Monday to Friday.
