The Gombe State College of Legal and Islamic Studies, Nafada has matriculated 770 students admitted into a two-year diploma programmme for the 2018/2019 academic session.
The students were admitted for various programmes which includes; Shari’a and Civil Law, English Language, Arabic Language, Hausa Language and Islamic Studies respectively.
Provost of the college, Dr Abdullahi Ahmad Sha’ali, said the college has established School of Communication and Information Technology that comprises Departments of Mass Communication, Library and Information Science and Computer Science.
He, therefore, appealed to Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo to construct a modern radio and television studios, E-library and computer laboratory to cater for the students admitted to read the newly introduced programmes.
The provost added that the collage has graduated its pioneer students, who he said have performed well in their final year examinations.
Dr Sha’ali urged the students to shun all forms of social vices, such as sexual misbehavior, indecent dressing and examination malpractice.
While calling the students to be dedicated in their studies, the provost assured that the college would put them through religious and rewarding moral and academic training.
