Free tertiary education will worsen educational system in Nigeria – ex FUTA VC

The immediate Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) Prof Adebiyi Daramola has said that free education in Nigerian universities is not visible even as he lamented that EFCC and ICPC have now been turned into instrument of blackmail.

Speaking with journalists in Akure, the Ondo state capital , Daramola said the standard of education has fallen so bad that to now add free education to it will worsen the situation.”education is expensive and no government can single handedly fund it”, not even in the United States and other leading countries of the world ,” he said

According to him, Nigeria would have been one of the richest countries in the world if the economy had been properly managed adding that the type of education they got in school at his time is no longer available.
