Flynas concludes airlift of Bauchi pilgrims

The last flight of Bauchi State pilgrims who performed this year’s hajj in Saudi Arabia landed at the Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport Bauchi Sunday.

The Flynas plane arrived the airport with 400 pilgrims, officials of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), officials of the state Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board as well as the representative of the national Amirul Hajj, the Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Rilwanu Suleman Adamu.

Addressing newsmen at the airport, the representative of the Amirul Hajj thanked Allah for his support which made this year’s hajj successful. He commended this year’s pilgrims from Nigeria for exhibiting good conduct throughout their stay in the holy land.

Also speaking, chairman of the state Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board Alhaji Ibrahim Sa’idu Jahun, expressed joy for what he described as one of the most successful hajj operations in the state.

In his remark, the state Amirul Hajj and Speaker of the State House of Assembly Alhaji Kawuwa Shehu Damina, said two pilgrims both from Shira local government area died in the holy land.

Answering questions from journalists, the Executive Secretary of the state Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board Alhaji Abdullahi Magaji Hardawa, said only a female pilgrim from Tafawa Balewa local government area was left behind in Mecca because she lost her passport.

He said Nigerian officials in the holy city were currently processing the replacement of the missing passport.
