He noted that no government can win the battle alone.
Falana stated this in Abuja at a public presentation of a book titled, “Economic Diplomacy and Nigeria’s Foreign Policy” by Dr. Musa Babayo.
Speaking on the topic “Right to accountable government” Falana said the duty of every citizen is to fight corruption which cannot be left to the government alone.
“It can never work. Nigerians must hold the battle in the collective interest of all. That is the only way the battle can be won,” Falana noted.
He, however decried the allegation by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) that the anti-corruption agenda of President Muhammadu Buhari is deliberately designed to humiliate its members and the former administration.
According to him, all President Buhari has done is to give the anti-graft agency an enabling environment to operate adding that no petition has gone from Buhari’s regime to the EFCC.
Falana also noted that under the new “Administration of Criminal Justice Act 2015” which was enacted by the former government and took effect in May, no corruption case in Nigeria would last more than six months in court.
