FCT nurses suspend warning strike

In a statement signed by the FCT NANNM Chairman, Comrade Mohammed N. Bida, which was made available to our reporter on Friday, the decision to suspend the strike was reached following resolution with the FCT administration to address its request.
He said the FCT administration has assured the association of its readiness to look into their grievances in order to ensure sanity in the nursing and midwifery profession.
“To this end, we hereby advise all our members to return to their duty post since government has expressed desire to meet our demands,” the statement said.
It would recalled that the FCT nurses and midwifery association had last Wednesday issued a notice to the FCT minister, Senator Bala Mohammed, of its intention to embark on a three days warning strike over stoppage of some of its staff salary, inadequate nurses/midwives, non-release of staff promotion among others.
