FCT Minister’s wife empowers less privileged women

She donated N10,000 each to indigent women nominated by various women associations and area councils, and other items to FCT School for the Blind Jabi, FCT School for the Deaf, Kuje and some orphanage homes.
Presenting the items to the beneficiaries, Hajiya Mohammed urged women to be tolerant,and make efforts to acquire knowledge.
She said, “They should teach their children good behavior and how to dress properly and not expose their bodies because indecent dressing contributes to the increase in rape cases.”
FCT President of the Market Women Association, Chief Fatima Sani lauded Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed for her  efforts in improving the lives of women and children in the FCT.
He said the minister’s wife’s birthday is significant because it coincides with that of UN secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon and the anniversary of the movement of the Federal Capital Territory from Lagos to Abuja.
Reverend  Israel Akanjiin his address on peaceful co-existence, called on religious leaders to eschew hate preaching, but use their positions, the Holy Books, and worship centres among others to promote peace in the country.
Also speaking, Sheikh Khalid, Imam of the Apo legislative quarters, Mosque said women are great tools for  advocacy especially for peace and urged them as mothers to guide their children and others from violence.
The donation was part of activities to mark Hajiya Mohammed’s 45th birthday anniversary.
