Our reporter learnt that the rescue team officials of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) took six others who sustained various degrees of injuries to the hospital.
A witness said the accident happened around 8:50 a:m when a Sharon bus with registration number KPA 138XA which was coming from Gwagwalada axis on top speed suddenly overtook another vehicle dangerously and collided with an oncoming Honda vehicle with registration number AE 378 AWE, from Abaji axis, killing a father and his three children.
He said the father and his three children traveling in the Honda car died on the spot after the head-on collision.
City News gathered that the father was on his way to Abuja from Federal Government Girls College (FGGC) where he had gone to pick his three children for vacation.
The vehicles were shredded due to the head-on collision.
When contacted, Yangoji unit commander of the FRSC, Austine Chukwudi Okeke, confirmed the accident, which he said claimed the life of a father and his three children.
He attributed it to speed violation and wrongful overtaking.
He said the corpses have been deposited at the Kwali General Hospital while the six injured victims that comprised three male and three female were taken to the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital at Gwagwalada for medical attention.
He further disclosed that two persons were injured last Wednesday evening in another accident, which occurred near Government Secondary School at Yangoji village, along Abuja-Lokoja road.
He said the incident involved a Honda Accord with registration number GF 409 LSR and a Mercedez Benz truck with registration number ABJ 486 XA.
He also attributed the accident to over speeding and dangerous overtaking adding that the victims were taken to Rhema Clinic at Kwali.
