Human rights activist Femi Falana has petitioned the National Human Rights Commission, demanding compensation for the families of about 200 Internally-displaced persons “mistakenly’ bombed in January 2017 by a Nigerian Air Force jet at a camp in Rann, Borno State.
In the petition, Falana said excuses by the military in defence of what happened did not hold water.
He said the offence was not only grave, but careless.
He also called for thorough investigation of the incident.
Falana said findings of the investigation must be made public.
