The Presiding Judge, Alhaji Hassan Muhammed, sentenced Yakubu after he pleaded guilty to a two-count charge of criminal breach of trust and theft.
Muhammed did not give the convict an option of fine.
Earlier, the police prosecutor, Corporal Usman Umar, had told the court that the convict on December 13 trespassed into the compound of one Mrs Deborah Adediran in Park Road, Gwagwalada, and stole her burglary proof.
He said the burglary proof valued at N10,000 was found in the possession of the convict during police investigations.
In related development, the court also on Tuesday sentenced two students, Kamal Ahmed, 21, and Abdullahi Ibrahim, 19, to two months imprisonment, each, for theft.
The Presiding Judge, Alhaji Hassan Muhammed sentenced the accused persons after they pleaded guilty to a three-count charge of criminal breach of trust, joint act, and theft.  
He, however, gave them an option to pay N5,000 fine while he ordered them to pay N45,000 collected from the complainant on or before December 23 and N10,000 for the handset they collected from him.
Police prosecutor, Corporal Iliya Maji, had earlier told the court that the convicts were arraigned on a three-count charge of criminal breach of trust, joint act, and theft.
Maji said the convicts and one Mohammed, now at large, assaulted the complainant, Francis, forcefully collecting the sum of N 45,000 being money he withdrew from the bank belonging his mother.
The prosecutor added that the accused persons also collected the complainant’s cell phone valued at N 19,000.
The prosecutor prayed the court to compel the convicts to pay N 64, 000 as compensation to the complainant.
