The European Centre for Electoral Support (ECES) has hosted a Leadership and Conflict Management (LEAD) training for women, youth and Persons Living with Disabilities (PWD) who were candidates of different political parties in the just-concluded 2019 general elections.
At the programme, which was hosted in Lagos, ECES Project Advisor- Gender and Inclusion, Cathy Latiwa, said the LEAD training programme aimed at strengthening the leadership capacities of electoral stakeholders, increase their level of confidence and self-awareness, provide them with the necessary tools to enhance dialogue development as well as dialogue-based decision making throughout the electoral cycle.
According to the project advisor, the LEAD training is built around the core values of inclusiveness and the exchange of specific experience and knowledge between electoral stakeholders.
The International Facilitator, Joachim Baggnan, also said the dynamic of politics and governance is such that calls for continuous updates of skills and styles and training, such as the one being organized by ECES which will go a long way to prepare the political stakeholders that are yet to be properly integrated into the system.
