Although they face an uphill task against Horoya FC in the quarter-final of this year’s CAF Confederation Cup, Enyimba International FC goalkeeper, Theophilus Afelokahi is optimistic that his team will get the job done against the Guineans.
On Wednesday in Cairo, the Confederation of African Football, CAF, paired the two West African giants in the quarter-finals of the Confederation Cup.
Even as they won the prestigious CAF Champions League back to back in 2003 and 2004, Enyimba are yet to win the CAF Confederation Cup title.
Speaking to Daily Trust, the former captain of Kano Pillars said the draw is not an easy one but said he was not expecting anything less than what Enyimba got eventually.
According to him, no club left in the Confederation Cup competition is a pushover.
“We are going to face very tough opponents but this is not coming to us as a surprise. All the teams left in the competition are strong.
“It is not going to be easy but we have picked form at the right time. When the time comes, we shall deal with the situation,” he said. Enyimba will host Horoya FC in the first leg in Aba on March 1.
