Engineers elect new national excos, task FG on diversification

The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) has elected new 13-man national executive officers that would run the affairs of the organisation in 2018.

The outgoing National President of the society Engr. Otis Oliver Anyaeji said this Friday in Abuja while presenting the communique of the week-long ‘Abuja2017’ National engineering conference and annual general meeting (AGM) of the society themed: “Diversification of Nigerian Economy: Engineering Perspective”.
 
Those elected are Adekunle Mokuolu President, Babagana Mohammed Deputy President, while the three vice presidents are Gidari-Wudil Tasiu Saad, Akinteye Joseph Olatunde and Mrs Ishidi Yohanna Edith.
 
The Executive Secretary elect is Olusola Obadimu, the immediate past president Otis Oliver Anyaeji is also included, while are six executive committee members are Ibitoye Felix Adediran, Adediran Halimat Sope, Garba Yakubu Ali, Prof Abdulrahim Abdulbaqi, Igwegbe Chinyere Nnenna and Dr Babalola Rasheed.
 
“The government should create enabling environment to promote commercialization of research results to increase availability of renewable energy resources at competitive cost, and awareness campaign on proven techniques for mass and cost effective manufacturing and production of goods and services,” the communique said.
