Ekiti State Independent Electoral Commission (EKSIEC) has fixed December 7, this year for the conduct of local government election in the state.
The chairman of the commission, Justice Jide Aladejana, said the tenure of the 177 councillors and 16 local government chairmen and other appointed officials will lapse on December 19, 2019, having assumed office December 19, 2017.
Speaking in Ado Ekiti, yesterday, during an interactive session with newsmen, Justice Aladejana assured that the local government polls would be conducted in a transparent manner devoid of rigging.
