Ekiti CJ: ACJA has potentials to develop nation”s justice system

Ekiti State Chief Judge, Justice Ayodeji Daramola, has said the adoption and implementation of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, (ACJA), in some states in Nigeria has the potential of developing the Nigerian Criminal Justice System and meeting global standards.

He described the Act as a laudable development and a big revolution in the criminal justice system in Nigeria.

He spoke at a workshop organized by FIDA in collaboration with the MacArthur Foundation on the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, ACJA, 2015, in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State capital.

Daramola listed the gains of the Act to include promotion of efficient management of criminal justice institutions, speedy dispensation of justice and protection of the society from crime and protection of the rights and interests of the suspects, the defendant, and the victim as well.
