Some residents of Yelwa village of Shendam Local Government Area of Plateau State have decried what they described as persisting rates of theft of rams in the area.
Benue/Plateau Trust gathered that most of the owners of the stolen rams were said to have been rearing them to sell during this year’s Eid-el-kabir festival.
Maryam Sani, one of those who fall victim to the situation, said: “Four of my rams, which I have been rearing long ago hoping to make some gains during Sallah time have been stolen just overnight.
“It is unfortunate. Whosoever did this to me, I would not forgive him, “ she said.
Alhaji Hamisu Dadi, another victim said: “I only woke up and noticed that some selfish individuals have stolen all my rams which I initially planned to sell during this year Sallah. It could not easily fade out from my memory,” he said.
Ibrahim Umar, also said thieves went into his compound at midnight and took away two of his rams, saying it had been a terrible experience for his family.
