A former governorship aspirant in Edo State on the platform of the APC, retired Major General Charles Airhiavbere, says no amount of intimidation will stop him from participating in the governorship primary election.
Airhiavbere contested the Edo State gubernatorial election in 2012 on the platform of the PDP.
According to him, despite his purported suspension by the Oredo Ward 1 leaders of the party, he remained a committed and loyal member of the APC.

Speaking, yesterday, during his investiture as grand patron of the Benin Recreation Club (BRC), in Benin, Airhiavbere said his suspension was a ploy by a group of persons and leaders in APC who saw him as a threat to other aspirants for Edo 2020 governorship election.
“Many people from within the APC have inundated me with calls to contest for the Edo South Senatorial seat. But I told them I was not interested because it will take me away from my people, home and soil.”
