Economic recovery: FG urged to prioritize emerging sectors

Ahead of the second edition of Prolight + Sound coming up in Dubai next month, Country Representative for Messe Frankfurt, who heads, Exhibition and Trade FairLimited, Omon Itoya –Abanokwu has said, Nigeria’s economy will see a boost if the prospects of emerging sectors such as the light and sound are prioritized.

Considering growing demand for audiovisual technology to meet budding events, culture, tourism and sporting industries, Itoya –Abanokwu said the trade fair, which holds from 17- 19  October  2017   could offer   Nigeria’s  economy  leapfrog   as   it recovers from downturn.

While Africa and Middle East are world’s fastest growing market for audiovisual with the sector hitting $5 billion in 2016, Itoya –Abanokwu said the Prolight + Sound Middle East presents great prospects for players in Nigeria to expand their frontiers.    

 

The inaugural edition of Prolight + Sound Middle East featured 37 exhibitors from 11 countries representing more than 120 brands, while more than  1,577 trade visitors from 50 countries passed through the buzzing hall at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.   

 

“The event is a must for stakeholders, who want to grow their business because it presents   stunning   opportunities   to   expand   business   and   network   in   the   MENA region,” she said.    

 

The event would feature products groups such as theatre, studio, auditorium, club, disco and   stage   lighting,   Trussing   and   rigging   systems,   stage   technology, stage machineries, lasers and special effects as well as audio, visual, among others.
