The Chairman of the 7-man ward and local government congresses of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC designated to monitor the exercise in Ebonyi state, Mr. Nicholas Ajayi has debunked the allegations from some quarters that there was parallel congresses in the state.
Ajayi’s reaction came following reports in some national dailies which had it that there was parallel ward congress on 5th May, 2018, of the party in the state.
Ajayi cleared the air Saturday, at the state party headquarters along the Abakaliki-Afikpo Highway when he spoke to journalists after he had monitored the exercise in some council areas of the state.
His words: "As long as I am concern the two Congresses were on well and there was no parallel congresses in Ebonyi state.
"Why because I’m the only Chairman designated to Ebonyi by APC national body. So since there is no other chairman implies that there is no parallel congress in Ebonyi state.
"And the peaceful and successful conduct of the congresses across the 13 local councils of Ebonyi state are clear demonstrations that the people of Ebonyi state are yearning for drastic change in 2019 elections.
"And APC has promise to give it to them come 2019", he said.
