Ebonyi: APC guber candidate kicks off campaign from church

The Ebonyi state governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Sen. Sonni Ogbuoji Sunday kick-off his campaign with a church service.

The service was held at the Assemblies of God Church, Mberi avenue, Abakaliki.


Those dignitaries who attended the service were the incumbent governor of Kano State, Mallam Ganduje, Fayemi Kayode of Ekiti state, Senator Godwill Akpabio  and  Samuel Lalong of plateau state.

Other were the former governor of Ebonyi state, Chief Martin Elechi, the former governorship candidate of the Labour Party but now an APC chieftain, Dr. Edward Nkwuagu, and host of others.

Delivering, his surmon, the Senior Pastor of the Church, Dr. James Ezeugo said that Nigerians including Christians have distorted from the basic priority and the things of God.

Rev. Dr. Ezeugo who spoke ‘On the Thing That Matter’ gave instance of last lesson of Alexander The Great.

He added that the last wishes of ‘Alexander The Great’ should be a very great lesson to politicians, adding that the political philosophy “The end Justify the means by Machiavelli now applicable in by our leader has caused more harm than good in the advancement of democracy.

Similarly, Sen. Ogbuoji who gave reason why he decided to kick start his campaign from the church, said it was to seek the mercy of God towards his governorship ambition.

“So many things have gone wrong in our God’s given state, the state is not for one man, one family and those of you who lack  courage, don’t be afraid, l will lead the battle not from the rear but from the front,” he said
