Dutse Royal Golf Club sweeps President Buhari zonal golf cup awards

Members of the Dutse Royal Golf Club have swept awards at the 2018 North West Zonal Qualifier of the Daily Trust President Muhammadu Buhari Golf Cup Tournament held in the club at the weekend.

Out of the 10 prizes presented to the winners after the zonal qualifiers yesterday, Dutse Royal Golf Club carted away seven of the prizes.

Speaking to Daily Trust, the founder of Dutse Royal Golf Club and Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Nuhu Muhammad Sanusi, expressed his happiness for the ability of golfers from the club to win more than half of the prizes, stressing that their outstanding performance has encouraged him to put in his best to ensure that the club produces more professionals.

According to him, the secret of the performance of the club that could not win a single prize in few years back was out of sheer determination and hardwork, adding with the support of the able captain of the club, the Dutse Royal Golf Club would be among the best golf clubs within the golf family in the country.

“By winning most part of the prizes at the Daily Trust President Buhari Golf Cup North West zonal competition indicated the formal sign post of the arrival of Dutse Royal Golf Club.

“We will also continue to improve on our golf course with a view to have the best in the country,” Emir Sanusi said.

In his remark, the captain of Dutse Royal Golf Club, Babangida Umar Gantsa, promised the seven winners from his club who had already by the positions in the competition qualified for the grand final of the tournament at the IBB Golf Club Abuja that their transport, feeding and accommodation while in Abuja will be catered for by the club.

“The commitment of our players was inspirational, looking at their splendid performance. The club is ready to support them in whatever means in order to attain the highest level of the game.”

Gidado Aliyu, Abdullahi Ahmed, Rabiu Abdullahi, Hassan Ahmed, Shuaibu, Sabo Yahaya and Suleman Uba, all from Dutse Royal Golf Club, emerged as first, second, third, fifth, six, seventh and eight positions while Ahmed Ado Bayero, Suleman Mohammed Suleman and Ibrahim Zico, from Minjibir and Kano, carted away, fourth, ninth and 10 positions.
