President of Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), Rev Jeremiah Gado, who expressed the optimism during an interaction with newsmen at the church headquarters in Jos, said that Buhari has all that is required to win the war against terrorism.
Rev Gado said it would be premature for anyone to judge Buhari when he was yet to form his government, even as urged the president to step up efforts aimed at curbing the spate of terrorist activities in the country.
“We thank God that Nigeria has escaped another threat to its existence through a peaceful election. With regard to the state of the nation, I will say we are in a transition because we just moved from one administration to another and transition time is usually characterised by too much risk and many difficulties.
“While we condemn the resurgence of violence in different parts of the country especially in the North, what we need is to pray for the president to overcome this difficult period because Nigerians have high expectations for him to deliver in the areas of the various challenges confronting the nation,” the ECWA president said.
On the need to give Buhari more time, he said, “for me, it is too early to blame him because he has not even put his house in order and form his government. I think we should not be in a hurry because whatever is worth doing is worth doing well.”
