Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State has expressed optimism that in a free, fair and credible contest, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Senator Douye Diri will emerge victorious in the November 16, 2019 governorship election in the state.
The governor, while speaking at the annual state thanksgiving service yesterday in Yenagoa, said God would not allow those who do not mean well for the state to assume the reins of governance.
Highlighting some of the achievements of his administration, the governor thanked God for giving him the wisdom to institute the state annual Thanksgiving Day celebration to give God His proper place.
According to Governor Dickson, critical infrastructure such as roads, health facilities, airport, educational facilities and public buildings including the Ecumenical centre were some of the lofty projects that have elevated the status of Yenagoa, the state capital.
In his sermon, the Archbishop of York, Church of England, Dr John Sentamu, stressed the significance of thanksgiving and urged the people to show commitment to the service of God and humanity.
