A governorship aspirant in Kwara State, Comrade Issa Aremu, has called for revisiting the 2014 National Conference which deliberated on carpet crossing by legislators.
Comrade Aremu said the recent mass defections of some members of APC to the PDP called for “quality control of the nation’s political process.”
He therefore suggested that Section 68(g) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), be further amended to indicate that any elected official, executive or legislative, who carpet-crossed, regardless of the reasons for such, shall automatically forfeit their seat.”
