The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has intercepted three cartons of 225mg Tramadol concealed in a truck carrying motor spare parts along Kaduna-Abuja road.
The Federal Operation Unit, Zone ‘B’ of the service also seized 1,100 bags of foreign rice during the festive period.
Speaking while conducting newsmen round the seized items, the Area Controller of the zone, Mohammed Sarkin Kebbi, explained that the discovery was made based on intelligence gathering from good Nigerians, adding that each carton of the tramadol has a market value of over N5 million totaling over N15 million for the three cartons.
“Ten vehicles were also intercepted with various smuggled goods and this is an important achievement to the Nigeria Customs Service in the FOU Zone ‘B’,” the area controller said.
