Customs Comptroller hands over to successor in Adamawa/Taraba

The outgoing Customs Area Comptroller, Adamawa/Taraba, Adetoye Francis has handed over to the new Acting Comptroller, Olumoh Kamaluddeen.

At a brief handing over ceremony in Yola, Adetoye said he succeeded in suppressing smuggling to its barest minimum in Adamawa and Taraba state from April, 2017 to April 2018.

During his one year tenure, he claimed his command made a total of sixty nine seizures with DPV worth N124,513,527.70 which was gotten from 50kg bags of foreign rice, second hand clothing, elephant tusk, petroleum products used vehicles, tricycles boat engines etc.

He added that the revenue generated in his command from April 2017 to April 2018 was N104,446,746,40

The source of Customs revenue are largely agriculture at the north-eastern part of the country but it affects the timing and pattern of products and amount of their duty collection which is usually high during January and the command succeeded in generating N20,508,591.27 which has exceeded  its monthly revenue target of N16,400.00 by N4,062,788.27.

He thanked Governor Muhammadu Jibrilla Bindow , Ishiaku Darius of Taraba and the Lamido of Adamawa, Alhaji Muhammad Barkindo Mustapha stating that they are the number one Custom Officers in the affairs of the Custom Command.

Acting Comptoller of Adamawa/Taraba, Olumoh Kamaluddeen expressed his happiness for joining the command while promising to keep the flag flying and seek for cooperation from his colleagues in order to move the command forward.
