The Ambassadors Club, a humanitarian pressure group of the National Hospital, Abuja, has pledged to render financial and material support to indigent patients of the hospital.
President of the club, Patrick Boyibi, said this while stressing the mission of the group at the formal launch and unveiling of its constitution at Dutsen Alhaji, Abuja, on Saturday.
He said the club started about a year ago and that it had visited patients three times.
“We are Ambassadors and strive at all times to represent a very good image of our employer. The mission of Ambassadors is to render humanitarian services to our patients who may be in need by way of financial or material support,” he said.
The chairman of the planning committee of the event, Joshua Ojedokun, said “we work in the hospital and there are some indigent patients who cannot afford their bills and out of the token we receive as salary we use some part to take care of our patients. We are into humanitarian and charity service.”
He called on staff members who are yet to join them to do so in order to put smiles on the faces of poor people.
