The President of the United Church of Christ in Nations (UCCN), also called HEKAN, Reverend Amos Kiri, has urged Nigerians to shun “do or die” politics, especially in the forthcoming 2019 elections, saying, politicians are elected to serve the people and not to shed their blood.
Speaking during a pastoral ordination service for two newly appointed reverends held in Kaduna over the weekend, Rev. Kiri expressed displeasure over the attitude of politicians for making politics a do or die affair.
He said, “If politics is about service to humanity, then there is no need to kill anybody in order to serve them. The rate at which people are being killed across the country because of political reasons is very disheartening.”
