He said all Nigerians should go on their knees and commit the governorship election to God.

The cleric said the preparation and threats by contending parties for the election, as well as the proposed deployment of 30,000 policemen and other security agencies by the Federal Government were frightening.

He said the buildup for the Ekiti election is now a pointer to what will happen next year, pleading that God should help the country avert any situation that would aggravate killings and insecurity in it.

“We commit the governorship election this weekend into the hands of God. The situation is already frightening. We need to be prayerful. We need God’s intervention to avert more crises and killings in this country,” he said.
