CJN, Eleganza boss to get Nile University degree

The Chief justice of Nigeria (CJN), Ibrahim Tanko Mohammad will be awarded with a honorary degree at Nile University of Nigeria’s 7th Convocation ceremony, says the school’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Osman Nuri Aras.

Aras, Thursday, at a press briefing in Abuja said Tanko alongside the chairman of Eleganza Group Dr. Rasaq Akanni Okoya were selectd to be awarded because of their achievements in their chosen fields.

Aras explained that the convocation slated for this Saturday at the school premises will be herald by a lecture on Friday tagged “ICT as a Catalyst for Nigeria Economic Development in the 21st Century”.

He added that “This year’s convocation ceremony is a particularly special one since 2019 marks the 10th Anniversary of Nile University of Nigeria. So, the 7th Convocation ceremony will be a dual celebration of both the accomplishments of our students and our University’s success story.”

The VC explained that the school which was established in 2009 with 3 Faculties, 7 Departments, and 93 students now has over 3000 students, 25 Undergraduate programs across 6 Faculties, and 36 Postgraduate programs across 5 Faculties.

Aras said the school’s success would not have been possible without the support of all Nigerians, especially the parents who trusted on their ability to equip their wards.

The Convocation Lecture will be delivered by the Minister of Communication Dr. Isah Ali Pantami and the Minister of Education Mallam Adamu Adamu.
