Nollywood acts, Chris Attoh and Zainab Balogun are among the leading thespians to play key roles in the new movie titled, Sylvia.
Dubbed “the first feature film” of the TRINOS studio, Sylvia encapsulates love, lust, obsessions and betrayal. While Attoh, the protagonist, acts as Richard Okezie, Zainab, the mysterious obsessive lover plays the role of Sylvia.
While exploring cause and effect nature of relationships, mental health and the real versus the surreal world, Richard is made to exist between the real world and a fantasy world; home to his friend and lover Sylvia (Zainab Balogun). Filled with passion and love, the two devotees embark on a journey of commitment.
At the movie screening held at Sliver bird Galleria, Victoria Island, Lagos, movie Director, Daniel Oriahi said is pinned in between avoidance of stereotypical styles and acts that have come to define many films within the industry and the need not to lose sight of “our Africaness” as well as the supernatural beliefs that shape our world.
The movie producer, Ekene Mekwunye said having come off the more than positive reception from its entry into the Nollywood Week Paris, the buzz around the Sylvia has been electrifying and many people expect it to be a jaw dropping and captivating film. He also revealed that the sum of N50 million went into its production.
With Babatunwa Aderinokun and Uche Okocha as Executive Producers and Vanessa Kanu as the playwright, Sylvia also features Nollywood Radio host, “Lolo” and other new faces. The movie is set to be released to Cinemas by September 21st, 2018.
