Barely 48 hours to the governorship election in Anambra State, the United Progressive Party (UPP), has restated its resolve not to influence the electoral process through any form of financial inducement.
The UPP said it would win the election convincingly through hard work, divine assistance and the support of the electorate.
The party’s flagbearer, Chief Osita Chidoka, who gave the assurance in Onitsha, while addressing a crowd at the grand finale of the election campaign, said the party had demonstrated its confidence to achieve victory through the highest number of youth supporting its campaign.
Meanwhile, the UPP yesterday accused the APC of planning to rig the election in Anambra State.
The UPP in a statement by its national publicity secretary, Chief Ogbuehi Dike, said it would resist any attempt by any party or agency to rig the election.
“The decision to continue with the outdated, archaic and cumbersome manual transmission of result from polling unit to ward collation centres is unacceptable,” it said.
