Cede governorship slot to Kogi central/west to win polls, APC, PDP told

The Kogi Central and Kogi West Forum for Equity and Justice said at the end of their meeting in Abuja that owing to the two region’s long term “marginalisation” the forum said it would, this time, come up with a single candidate after a thorough scrutiny that would end their wait to lead the state.
Chairman media and publicity for the cause, Tom Adaba, said in a statement that the meeting, attended by over 100 people from the two zones, also resolved to opt for a different platform to field their candidate, should the two main parties fail to do so.
“The meeting reiterated its commitment to fielding a single candidate as well as a deputy in the forthcoming governorship election in the state. It advised all major political parties to respect the feelings and reflect the interest of the two senatorial zones in the choice of their gubernatorial candidates if they are serious about winning this year’s election.
“The forum vowed to halt the marginalisation of the two senatorial districts, end the rot in the state and enthrone good governance and equity which have so far eluded the resource-rich state. Rather than constantly bemoaning their plight, participants resolved to come together, strategise and take their destinies in their hands,” said the statement.
Toward realising this, the forum said the two zones pledged to remain focused and determined, and mobilise all the people and associations in the two senatorial districts towards achieving the common aspiration.
