A new President of the Catholic Bishop Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) will emerge tomorrow in Abuja, the outgoing president, Rev Ignatius Ayau Kaigama said.
He said this yesterday in Abuja at the formal opening of the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria (CSN) Resource Centre/Guest House and the first 2018 Plenary of the CBCN.
“My speech sounds like a vote of thanks and a valedictory speech because my successor as CBCN president will emerge through election by Tuesday and will be inaugurated at our closing Mass on Thursday. Elections conducted to choose our president and principal officers are always free, fair and transparent, with the Holy Spirit taking the lead. I assure you that electoral fraud does not happen,” Kaigama said.
Meanwhile, the youth wing of CAN in the 19 northern states and Abuja has called on the Federal Government to proscribe the activities of killer herders as well as declare them a terrorist group.
This was contained in a communiqué jointly signed by the chairman and secretary of the association, Evangelist Musa D. Misal and Sarafa Adekunle Oyewo respectively at the end of a conference which held in Kaduna.
