A major contender in the Delta State APC gubernatorial primary election, Dr. Cairo Ojougboh, has debunked insinuations that he betrayed the Delta North agitation by accepting to become the running mate of Chief Great Ogboru.
In a statement signed by his media team, headed by Emmanuel Ojeme, and made available to Daily Trust yesterday, Dr. Ojougboh said he was not interested in becoming a deputy governorship candidate.
“We are making it clear for the interest of the public and unsuspecting APC family that there is no discussion or any arrangement of such. This only exists in the imagination of people not known to him. Dr. Ojougboh is not a deputy governor aspirant or candidate and can never be interested.
“Dr. Ojougboh distances himself from such and has asked the general public to jettison such rumours as his only disposition now is how the party can pull together in one accord, resolve all the lingering differences and have a lasting peace so as to face the upcoming general elections as one family and come out victorious,” the statement read in part.
