INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner in Sokoto, Ibrahim Zarewa has assured of free, transparent and credible bye election for Kware/Wammako federal constituency of Sokoto state for the House of Representatives scheduled to hold October 28,2017.
This is just as the Commissioner of Police,Sokoto Mohammed Abdulkadir has warned against thuggery and urged leaders of all political parties to curb the use of youths as tools for political violence.
It would be recalled that the seat became vacant following the death of Hon Abdullahi Muhammad July 14 ,2017
The INEC and Police Commissioners spoke at a stakeholders meeting organised by the electoral commission in Sokoto.
The police boss said adequate security would be ensured throughout the exercise.
Speaking INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner Zarewa stressed that only electorates with permanent voter’s cards would be allowed to vote.
He said submission of nomination forms would end on October 17, 2017.
