A 35-year-old suspected burglar, Akeem Muibi, has been arrested in a soakaway where he was said to have hidden himself after allegedly breaking into a shop.
Muibi was alleged to have, on October 17, 2018, broken into the grocery shop owned by one Mallam Sani Ali at Ejigbo, a Lagos suburb, stealing goods worth thousands of naira.

As the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal, confirmed to our correspondent, luck ran against the suspect when one of the security men attached to the shop sighted him while he was climbing out from the shop’s roof.
“Although he fled the scene, he was eventually arrested in a nearby soakaway pit where he had hidden himself to evade arrest. All the items he stole were recovered from him. He has also made a confessional statement. He will soon be charged to court,” Edgal said.
The police boss similarly disclosed that the police arrested a suspected car vandal, Fatai Adeshina, 32.
He said Adeshina was caught vandalizing cars at 13/15 Community Road, Ago-Okota, Lagos.
Edgal said the suspect confessed that the operation for which he was arrested was his fourth.
“Exhibits recovered from him included the brain box of a Toyota Corolla car and four door control panels,” he said.
