The Transparency Advocacy for Development Initiative (TADI) has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for his stance on regional economic integration which has led to a reformed Directorate of Technical Cooperation in Africa (DTCA).
Convener of the group, Ambassador Yomi David, said yesterday in Abuja that Buhari’s commitment has also led to steady strides of progress, transparency, accountability and due process in the agency.
According to him, in an era of rapid globalization which Nigeria seeks to make progress in her quest for economic diversification to ensure wealth generation, job creation and overall national development vis-à-vis reasserting regional leadership, the DTCA has done well.
He said that after due assessment, they cannot but come to terms with the evidence that the agency has been effectively repositioned under the innovative leadership of its present acting Director General, Sanda Isah, whose pursuit is to make DTCA core of generation and transfer of technology that can measure up to the best global standards.
He added that the Scientific and Technical Exchange Programme (STEP) of the DTCA as implemented by Isah, has prevented some of Nigeria’s best from leaving the country.
