Buhari will have no opposition in 2019 - Ngige

Minister of Labour and Productivity, Dr. Chris Ngige,  has said that President Muhammadu Buhari will not have any serious opposition in clinching the mandate of Nigerians for a second term in 2019.
Ngige, who spoke in Onitsha hinged his optimism on what he described as the president’s excellent performance in office in the past three years.
Moreover, the Minister said that the scenario that played out in 2015 when the president clinched the number one seat has not changed.
“The scenario in 2015 is still what we have now. The voting pattern has not also changed because the All Progressives Congress (APC) still commands the majority of supporters in the entire Northern states and the south West states of Nigeria and now poised to break new electoral grounds in the south East and the South-South states”, he said.
He described as inconsequential the defection of politicians from his party to other parties saying thst politicians of note from other parties were also joining the party. He  described political parties as vehicles through which politicians use to get to clinch power and position.
Ngige said, “If you are going to Lagos from Onitsha, you may decide to join “Ekenedilichukwu”, while another person may want to join “Chisco” transport bus, but the destination remains Lagos.
“So it is a non-issue. People are just changing vehicles and heading to the same destination”, he said.
He enjoined Ndigbo to identify with the APC and Buhari’s second term aspirations , stressing that power will shift to the south after Buhari.
