Buhari receives Prince Charles, wife in Villa

President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday received Prince Charles and his wife, Princess Camila at the State House Villa, Abuja.

The royal visitors arrived at the State House by 2.21pm and were ushered into the President’s office for a closed doors meeting that lasted an hour.

In company of the Prince who last visited the country in 2006 during President Olusegun Obasanjo tenure was the British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Paul Arkwright.

As at the time this report was filed around 8.pm, the Media Office of the President was yet to issue a statement about the Prince’s meeting with the President.

The Prince during his visit in the country is expected to engage in peace-building activities including addressing the farmers-herders clashes.

Our correspondent reports that the visit was aimed at strengthening the ties between the Nigeria and the Britain as members of the Commonwealth.

Prince Charles took over as the head of the Commonwealth of Nations last April, succeeding his mother Queen Elizabeth II.
