Suspected Boko Haram insurgents have attacked and killed at least eight farmers and injured 15 others near Maiduguri on Saturday, a vigilante source said.
The incident occurred near Molai village in Jere local government area, some 12 kilometers away from Maiduguri, the state capital.
According to the source, the attack happened at about 9:30am on Saturday when the insurgents attacked the farmers on their farm land.
“As I speak with you now, eight persons have been confirmed dead, while 15 sustained serious injuries as a results of gun shots by insurgents who attack our people this morning on their farm land near Molai”.
