A High Court sitting in Makurdi has restrained another faction of the troubled Benue State House of Assembly from reconvening tomorrow to carry out legislative functions as earlier scheduled.
The 30-member house had split into two factions since the impeachment of the former Speaker, Terkimbi Ikyange, who in turn led seven members to attempt an impeachment proceeding on Gov. Samuel Ortom.
The new Speaker, Titus Uba, and his 21 other colleagues had continued to oppose the former speaker.
At the court, Justice Theresa Igoche, who last week refused to vacate an order in favour of Ikyange while restraining him and two others from parading themselves as principal officers of the house, had also stopped the Uba faction from resuming sitting today.
