The U-16 male football teams of Kwara and Bauchi State will this afternoon battle for supremacy in the finals of this year’s Ramat Cup in Kano.
The annual youth tournament is sponsored by Knao State government and organised by the Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria, YSFON, in memory of Nigeria’s late Head of State, General Muritala Ramat Mohammed.
In the first semi-final match played yesterday, Bauchi State defeated Rivers 4-2 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in the regulation time.
The second semi-final match of the day saw Kwara edging out Kogi 3-1 on penalties after they ended 0-0 in normal time.
Another event slated for the day is the finals of the selected invitational relay for selected secondary schools across the country.
The President of Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria,YSFON , Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna said YSFON will continue to appreciate the Kano State Government ably lead by Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje for supporting the tournament.
Meanwhile, organisers said the governor of Kano State will be joined at the finals by his Kaduna State counterpart, Malam Nasir El-Rufai and Nigeria’s Service Chiefs.
The final match will hold at the Sani Abacha stadium in Kano.
