An All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives candidate for Darazo/Ganjuwa federal constituency in Bauchi state, Mansur Manu Soro has organised and facilitated a training for 1000 women on modern methods of groundnut oil milling.
The training was conducted by the tripartite of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Small and Medium Entrepreneurship Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), Corporate affairs Commission (CAC) in Darazo town.
He said the training was conducted for the women who mostly rely on crude methods in milling groundnut to earn a living.
The trainees received a donation of two sets of fabricated milling machines and 40 bags of groundnut from me.
According to the APC candidate, the trainees were organised by CAC into business entities and SMEDAN trained them on the basics of a successful entrepreneurship while the CBN introduced and encouraged them on ways to access credit facilities to expand their micro businesses.
Addressing the trainees, Soro promised that, if elected, he will bring his wealth of experience as an economist and successful businessman to facilitate gainful engagement of women to enhance family livelihoods.
He added that, as a Special Assistant to Governor Abubakar on Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and Social Investment Programmes (SIPs), he facilitated the inclusion of women and unemployed youths into the various components of the SIPs in Bauchi state.
According to him, the involvement of people and the support of Governor Mohammed Abubakar led to the successes recorded by the state in SIPs which earned it many commendations.
