Nine people were reportedly killed by an auto crash on Saturday along the Keffi-Nasarawa road in Nasarawa state.
The victims were said to be associates of the groom who is from Zamfara State. The wedding was scheduled to take place by 11 am on the same day, in Nasarawa town.
A witness who spoke to our reporter disclosed that, he along with others got to the scene a few minutes after 10 am.
However, a team of Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, officials were already at the scene which was about five kilometers to Nasarawa town.
The Wedding Fatiha which is for a daughter of a former Senator, Abubakar Sodangi, was later conducted around 12 pm.
The Chief Imam of the town served as the groom’s representative (Walee) following the death of the original representatives in the accident.
It was gathered that, the affected vehicle, a hummer bus lost control after when one of its tyre removed while on transit.
The victims comprising friends and relatives of the groom, were laid to rest around 5 pm of the same day, following a funeral prayers at Marhabin Jumma’at mosque, which is also the venue of the wedding.
