‘APC in Sokoto intact’ – Party chieftain

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto state is intact, says the Zonal Vice Chairman (East), Alhaji Abu Baki Illela.

He made this known on Wednesday while inaugurating the 113 delegates to participate in the forthcoming primary elections of APC in Wamakko local government area of the state.

Those inaugurated included 110 local government and state delegates from the 11 political wards in the area, and three national delegates.

The delegates emerged through consensus, Daily Trust learnt.

Alhaji Illela, who is also the Chairman of a five-man committee to oversee the event, said the processes leading to the emergence of the delegates were hitch-free and all-encompassing.

The chairman of the party in the area, Alhaji Bello Jijji Bado, added that the delegates were unanimously affirmed and elected.

Also speaking, a stalwart of APC in Sokoto, Alhaji Bello Muhammad Wamakko expressed optimism that the party would win the forthcoming general elections at all levels.

Wamakko, a retired Permanent Secretary, however described the Chairman, Northern Senators Forum, Senator Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko as a reliable leader.
