Senator Okurounmu made this disclosure on a live television programme monitored in Abuja yesterday.
He said, “The Lagos State governor is one man, a very important man but he has just one vote, the governors of Lagos and Edo and all those APC governors, their people don’t agree with them because they have been turning out in large numbers to express support for the conference
“We all know the situation of Lagos for instance, it does not take much to know that Lagos state people will be supportive of the conference no matter what their governor says, we all know about the operation of 53 local government development area and up till now they have not been endorsed by the National Assembly as Local Government Areas.”
The chairman of the committee also hinted that the committee is requesting Federal Government for extension of the deadline from the initial six weeks given the committee to conclude its work.
