The Board of Directors chairman of Anchor Insurance Company Ltd, Dr. Elijah Akpan, has disclosed that the company has paid N540.28 million to their genuine policyholders as against N268.19m in 2016.
He told journalists in Calabar that the company made positive headways in some key indices in 2017 despite the sector’s abysmal performance in 2016.
He said they also paid dividend of 2Kobo ordinary shares to its shareholders for the year ended, 2017, adding that this was ratified by the share-holders at their 28th Annual General Meeting (AGM).
He said during the period under review, the company’s gross premium written grew from N2.05bn in 2016 to N2.22bn in 2017, showing 8.43 per cent growth over the performance of the corresponding period of 2016, and attributed the rise to quality workforce, innovative customer-friendly products developed and introduced into the market.
Akpan expressed happiness that investment and other incomes immensely raised the growth from N212.32m in 2016 to N231.42m, which represents 9 per cent increase over same time in 2016.
